Hard Rock Flooring and the Coronavirus / COVID-19

Along with the whole of the construction industry, Hard Rock Flooring is remaining open but amending its normal operations to remain safe and to follow the latest government advice.

Update 1: March 2020
Following the government’s letter to the construction industry sent by Alok Sharma MP, the Secretary of State for Business, Energy & Industrial Strategy, we are complying with the Site Operating Procedures as laid out by the Construction Leadership Council.

Update 2: November 2020
In an updated letter to the construction industry, Alok Sharma MP has reaffirmed that even during the upcoming “November lockdown” that construction projects should continue.  Specifically he says “Building merchants and hardware stores will be able to stay open to support this as normal or through click-and-collect services.”.  We remain open – please call ahead and we’ll be ready for you as always.

Update 3: December 2020
In a further updated letter to the construction industry, Alok Sharma MP has said “the Government appreciates the invaluable contribution your sector is making. Whether delivering on large or small construction sites, and in peoples’ homes across the country, in builders’ merchants, designing and project managing schemes or producing construction and mineral products, you are making a major contribution to the economy. “.
We are pleased to remain open and ready for you

Update 4: January 2021
As the whole country adjusts to life in full lockdown again, we have received another letter – this time from Alok Sharma’s replacement as Secretary of State for Business, Energy & Industrial Strategy, Kwasi Kwarteng MP.

We are pleased that Kwasi recognises the efforts we have been going to, when he says “It is vital that construction continues through these unsettling times and I want to reassure you that the Government values the crucial contribution your sector is making.

In summary
Essentially this means we are still open.
Our deliveries will continue.  Our retail showroom is closed to the walk-in public, but we are opening it by appointment for the trade and those needing building materials for domestic construction projects.

We are working from home where possible, so there may not be anyone at the showroom if you visit without making an appointment.  Please call us on 01296 770859 – calls to the showroom are diverted to mobile phones when we are out on deliveries or working remotely.
